How does parenting time affect child support?

Most states factor overnights into child support calculations. More time with the child typically means a lower support obligation. A 50/50 schedule may result in minimal support based solely on income differences, while an 80/20 arrangement usually means higher payments from the non-custodial parent.

About holiday overrides: Holidays take priority over the base 2-week rotation. "Alternating" means even years go to Parent A, odd years to Parent B. Summer and spring break weeks also override the base pattern.

This calculator provides estimates only. Actual custody arrangements are determined by court order. This is not legal advice.
